The purpose of the Billing and Coding for the Medical Office course is to provide students with a hands-on approach to gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the functions of an entry-level medical biller/coder while understanding the professional and ethical responsibilities for which it entails.

The tuition for this program is $1695.00

Do I have to take a placement test?
Yes. HHCI uses the Scholastic Level Exam prepared by Wonderlic Education Solutions. The exam is issued online using the designated computer in the Student Services Center. Students wishing to enroll in the Billing and Coding for the Medical Office training program must score a minimum of 17 on the placement exam to be eligible for enrollment.
Is there a fee to take the placement test?
Yes. The Scholastic Level Exam fee is $10.00 (non-refundable).
If I don't score a minimum of 17 on the Scholastic Level Exam will I be able to retake it?
Yes. There will be a $10.00 fee each time you take the exam.
Are there any other placement requirements for this program?
No; however, individuals in this course must have an active email account and access to a computer for the online portions.
Once I'm enrolled, how long will the training take?
The program is a total of 130 hours and is taught over an 8-week period. It is offered as a "blended" course (which means portions of the course are taught online, and portions of the course are taught in the classroom). Check with the Student Services Center for an updated schedule of the classroom portion.
Once I've completed the training program will I be certified?
No. Students successfully completing the Billing and Coding for the Medical Office program will receive a Certificate of Achievment from HHCI, and may be eligible to sit for national certification through the National Healthcareer Association.
Is there a fee to take the national certification exam?
Yes. The fee is $105.00 paid directly to the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). HHCI offers an application assistance services for a fee of $10.00. Please see the Administrative Assistant to schedule an appointment.
